Kitchen lighting needs to be practical as well as good-looking. This collection includes pendant lights and task lighting for islands, breakfast bars and dining areas.

Over an island, a row of two or three pendants spaced evenly usually looks balanced, hung so the bottom of the shade sits about 75cm above the worktop. Metal and glass shades give clear light for food preparation; check the diameter, drop length and bulb type on each product page. Hardwired fixtures should be installed by a qualified electrician.
