Height-Adjustable Metal Kitchen Pendant

A height-adjustable pendulum pendant built to the 1970s pattern, where the shade can be pulled down over a table and pushed back up out of the way. The mechanism is the point of the design and the reason these fittings are still sought after: one lamp can be a low, intimate light over dinner and a high, unobtrusive one the rest of the time.

Four configurations are offered. The single-shade version comes at 30 cm, for a breakfast bar, a smaller table or a hallway, and at 50 cm for a full dining table or a kitchen island. The double version puts two shades on one fitting, which covers a long island or a rectangular table from a single ceiling point, again at 30 cm and 50 cm each. Two finishes are available: gold, which warms the light reflecting off the inside of the shade, and chrome, which is cooler and sharper and reflects the room around it. In both, the detailing of the shade is what gives the light its quality, throwing a soft, cosy pool rather than a hard circle.

Bulbs are not included. Check the adjusting mechanism runs freely before final installation and do not force it. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the full weight of the fitting, including the counterweight in the adjustable mechanism.
