Nursery Lighting

Nursery lighting has a narrower job than lighting in the rest of the house: it needs to be gentle enough for late-night feeds and nappy changes without being so dim it's not useful, and calm enough not to overstimulate a baby right before sleep. This collection is built around that — soft-glow ceiling lights in cloud and moon shapes with warm amber and opal glass, a few animal-shaped pieces (whale, elk) for a softer visual than a plain fixture, and bedside table and floor lamps for a lower, warmer light source at night.

Several pieces here are dimmable, which is worth prioritising for a nursery specifically — a fixture you can turn down for nighttime use and back up for daytime changing and play is generally more useful than one fixed brightness. As with any nursery fixture, keep table and floor lamps and their cords out of reach of the cot, and have hardwired ceiling fixtures connected by a qualified electrician.

If you're furnishing the rest of a child's room rather than just the nursery corner, our kids room collection has more playful, decorative options for when they're a little older, and our lamps collection covers table and floor lighting for the rest of the house.
