A bell-shaped shade in natural rattan with a band of white weave running around it, and the two-tone treatment is what lifts it out of the ordinary. A single natural shade is warm but can read as heavy; the white band breaks the surface, catches the eye at one height and gives the fixture a horizontal line that a plain weave does not have. It is a small intervention with a clear effect.
It also changes the light. The white section transmits more than the natural rattan around it, so at night the shade glows unevenly by design: a bright band with warmer, denser weave above and below it. That reads as deliberate rather than as a flaw, and it gives the pendant more visual interest when lit than a uniform shade manages.
