Single Origami Bird Bedside Pendant

One folded origami bird, perched and lit from within, hung as a single point of light. It is the smallest piece in the origami bird range and the most useful: a minimalist glowing sculpture for the quieter corners of a house, where the larger multi-bird fittings would be far too much.

Its best use is beside a bed. Hung at bedside height in place of a table lamp it frees the whole surface of a nightstand, which in a small bedroom is worth more than the fitting costs, and the bird sits at eye level where the folded facets can actually be seen. Beyond that it works over a hallway console, in a reading corner, at the turn of a stairwell, or above a desk in a study. Because it is lit from inside rather than from outside, there is no visible bulb and no glare, which is what makes it comfortable to have close by at night.

The light source is integrated into the bird. Over a bedside or a console, set the drop so the bird hangs clear of anything on the surface below. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the weight of the fitting.
