Rattan Ball String Lights

Twenty woven rattan balls threaded along a string, each one with an LED inside, so the light comes out through the gaps in the weave as a pattern rather than as a bare point. That is the whole difference between these and ordinary fairy lights: unlit they are a garland of natural woven spheres, and lit they throw small webs of shadow onto whatever surface they are near.

Two versions are offered. The 4 m battery set goes anywhere, with no socket to find and no cable to hide, which suits a mantelpiece, a table centre or a garden table. The 5 m plug-in set is longer and never needs a battery change, and is the better choice for a run that stays up permanently along a shelf, a headboard or a pergola. White gives a clean coastal look; the multicolour version has more of a party or festival feel. Both work well wound along a bannister, draped across a garden fence or hung above a table outdoors on a summer evening.

Rattan is a natural material, so colour and weave vary between balls. Suitable for indoor use and for sheltered outdoor use only; keep the battery compartment, plug and connectors dry and never leave them exposed to rain. Batteries are not included with the battery version. Keep small parts and batteries away from young children and pets.
