Ribbed Glass Umbrella Semi-Flush Light

A tiered glass shade with a ribbed texture pressed into it, mounted semi-flush so it hangs just clear of the ceiling rather than sitting hard against it. That small gap matters: it lets a little light escape upwards and lifts the ceiling, which stops the room from feeling closed in the way a fully flush fitting sometimes can.

The ribs are the reason to choose it. They break the light as it leaves the glass, so instead of a flat glow the fitting throws a soft radiating pattern onto the ceiling and the wall around it. Four combinations are offered: amber with a black ceiling plate, clear with black, green with brass, and clear with brass. Amber is the warmest and most vintage; green is the most characterful; clear reads cleanest and lets the metal do the talking. Black is graphic against a white ceiling, brass is warmer and suits an older house. It suits a hallway, a landing, a bedroom or a kitchen with a standard ceiling height.

Glass is pressed and tinted individually, so slight variation in tone is normal. Bulb is not included. Intended for indoor use in dry locations only. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the fitting should not be installed where it would be exposed to direct water.
