Ostrich Feather Floor Lamp, 160cm

A full metre-wide shade of ostrich feathers on a brass stem standing 160 cm high. There is no getting around what this is: a statement piece, and one that changes a room the moment it is switched on, because light passing through feather does something no fabric or glass can reproduce. The edges glow, the depth of the plume shows, and the whole shade appears to move slightly even when it does not.

Two stem finishes are offered, gold and silver, and the feather colour range is unusually wide. Natural, white, black, coral, cloud, oyster pink and moss green are stocked, and a further set including old gold, ivy green, bottle green, dove grey, mocha, candy floss, steel, mandarin orange, navy and peacock green is available to order. Made with real ostrich feathers, a by-product of the ostrich industry; natural feather varies in length, curl and colour depth between pieces. Bulb is not included; maximum 60 W. Feather is combustible: use only a bulb that runs cool and keep the shade well clear of heaters, candles and other heat sources. Stand the lamp on a level, firm surface and keep the cable clear of walkways.
