Iron Letter and Number Pendant Light

A black iron letter or number, open at the front, with the bulb sitting inside the form. Every letter from A to Z and every digit from 0 to 9 is available separately, which is what makes this a system rather than a single product: you buy the characters you want and build whatever you are spelling out.

That is the whole appeal. A single initial over a bedside or a desk is a small personal touch. Three or four letters spelling a name, a word or a room label along a wall or above a counter becomes a proper feature. In a loft, a bar, a workshop, a shop or a teenager's bedroom the industrial vintage reading is obvious, and because each character costs very little, a run of several is still an affordable way to fill a large blank wall or a long ceiling span. The open ironwork means the bulb is part of the design, and a filament-style bulb makes a considerable difference to how it looks.

Bulb is not included; energy-saving LED or incandescent bulbs of 60 W or less are recommended, and a filament-style bulb suits the open frame best. Because the bulb is exposed, mount characters out of easy reach where they could be touched. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
