Green Three-Layer Metal Pendant Light

Three metal layers stacked one above the other, each slightly wider than the one above it, so the shade steps outwards as it descends. The stepping is what makes it: light escapes between the tiers as well as out of the bottom, so bands of brightness appear around the fitting and it reads as a layered object rather than a single solid shade.

Two sizes are offered. At 27 by 30 cm it is compact enough for a bedside, a hallway or a breakfast bar, and a row of three over a kitchen island is where it looks best at that size. At 50 by 53 cm it is substantial enough to hold a dining table or a living room on its own, and the layering has room to be seen properly. The green is a considered muted tone rather than a bright one, so it works as a single confident colour against white walls, pale timber and brass, and it is one of the few coloured fittings that does not date quickly.

Bulb is not included. Because the shade is metal, use a bulb that runs cool and do not exceed the maximum wattage marked on the fitting. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the weight of the fitting.
