French Vintage Glass Flush Ceiling Light

A wide, shallow glass shade held flush against the ceiling on a slim metal frame, in the plain French manner where the shape does all the work and there is no ornament at all. Two finishes are offered: a clean white for modern and Scandinavian rooms, and a softer cream that sits better against warm plaster, older paintwork and natural wood.

Because it is a flush fitting it goes where a pendant cannot: a hallway, a landing, a bedroom with a low ceiling, a room where a door swings close to the light. The wide shade spreads light sideways along the ceiling as well as down, which is what lifts a narrow corridor and stops it feeling closed in. Two diameters are available, 35 cm for smaller rooms and repeat runs along a hallway, and 45 cm where the fitting needs to be the main light in the room. Used consistently through the circulation spaces of a house it gives a calm, coherent scheme without any of the fittings competing.

Made from glass and metal. Direct wired, 110V-240V, E26 bulb base, CE and UL certified. Bulb is not included. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the fitting should be wired to the supply appropriate to your country.
