Geometric Iron Frame Chandelier in Black

Slim black metal rods are joined into an open geometric frame with the lamps set inside it, so the structure itself is the design and there are no shades to soften it. Switched off it reads as a piece of drawn line-work against the ceiling; switched on, the exposed bulbs sit inside the frame and throw the shadow of the rods outwards across the ceiling and the upper walls.

Two sizes are available. The three-head version at 57 cm across suits a smaller dining table, a kitchen island or a hallway; the five-head version at 77 cm is the one for a full dining table or a living room, where the extra width lets the geometry read properly from below. Matt black is deliberately unfussy and does the job in industrial, Scandinavian and modern schemes equally, and it holds its own against exposed brick, concrete and dark timber as easily as against a plain white ceiling.

Bulbs are not included, as the fitting ships without them to reduce the risk of breakage in transit. Energy-saving LED or incandescent bulbs are suitable; do not exceed 60 W per lamp. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the full weight of the fitting.
