Travertine and Wood Entryway Ceiling Light

Yellow travertine paired with wood in a small ceiling fitting, in the wabi-sabi spirit of letting two honest materials sit together without disguise. Travertine is full of fine open pores and mineral banding, and next to the grain of timber the two textures play off each other rather than competing.

This is a fitting for the transitional spaces of a house: an entryway, a corridor, a hallway, a porch or a covered balcony. Those are rooms nobody plans lighting for and where a plain downlight adds nothing, and putting real stone and real wood overhead makes an ordinary passage feel considered. Two finishes are offered, walnut and natural wood, and the choice is about what the stone sits against: walnut deepens the contrast, natural keeps it light and Scandinavian. The travertine glows warmly when lit, so the fitting gives a soft welcoming light rather than a bright functional one.

Made from yellow travertine and wood. Direct wired, 110V-240V, G9 bulb base, CE and UL certified. Bulb is not included. Every piece of stone and timber is different, so colour, banding and grain vary between fittings. Stone is heavy: installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the weight. For porch or balcony use, fit only in a covered position not exposed to direct rain.
