Wooden Boho Wall Light

A wood and metal wall light offered in four designs, A to D, at 20 or 25 cm across. Four variations on the same idea is unusual and useful: the differences are in the profile and the arrangement of the timber, so you can pick the one that suits the wall rather than accepting the only shape available.

Wall lights are the most underused fitting in most homes, and at this size they solve real problems. Beside a bed one gives a warm reading light and frees the whole surface of a nightstand. Along a hallway a run of three turns a blank corridor into something considered. Above a sofa, beside a doorway or in an alcove they put light where it is actually needed in the evening without a ceiling fitting flooding the room. Each design is available hardwired for a permanent installation or as a plug-in with a cable and switch, which is the easier route in a rented flat or where there is no wall wiring in place.

Wood is a natural material, so grain and tone vary between pieces. Bulb is not included; energy-saving LED or incandescent bulbs of 60 W or less are recommended, and a bulb that runs cool should be used and kept clear of the timber. Mount securely into a suitable wall fixing, and have hardwired installation carried out by a qualified electrician.
