White rattan behaves differently from natural rattan in a room, and the difference is worth understanding before choosing. Natural fibre adds warmth and a visible colour; white fibre adds only texture. Against a white ceiling the shade almost dissolves, leaving the weave pattern floating without a strong outline, which is exactly what a Japandi or Scandinavian room usually wants.
