Vintage Semi Flush Mount Ceiling Light

A white resin rim around an acrylic shade, which is a construction rather than a decoration applied on top. The rim gives the fixture a defined edge and a bit of visible depth where a plain acrylic dome would read as a flat disc on the ceiling, and it is what pushes the whole thing towards vintage rather than contemporary in feel.

Acrylic rather than glass is the sensible choice for a semi flush fixture. It diffuses evenly, it does not shatter if something reaches the ceiling, and it weighs a fraction of what glass does at the same diameter, which keeps the fixing straightforward. The trade-off is that acrylic scratches, so it wants a soft cloth and nothing more abrasive than that.

Three colours are offered at the same price. Beige is the period-correct choice and warms the light noticeably; white is the neutral and disappears; green is the one that reads as a deliberate decision. The semi flush mount sits close to the ceiling without being completely flat against it, which suits a room of standard height. Bulb not included. Indoor use. Wipe the acrylic with a soft dry cloth only, since it scratches easily.
