Natural rope woven by hand into a striking diamond pattern. Most natural-fibre shades rely on texture alone; using a strong geometric weave gives this one a graphic quality as well, so it reads as contemporary rather than purely rustic and works in a room that would reject a plain basket shade.

Two sizes are offered. At 30 cm it is a compact fitting for a bedside, a hallway or a breakfast bar, and a row of three at staggered drops is where it looks best at that scale. At 50 cm it has the presence to be the main fitting over a dining table or a kitchen island. In both, the diamond weave is doing double duty: it gives the shade its pattern when unlit, and when the lamp is on it throws that same diamond lattice across the ceiling and the walls, which is an effect no solid shade can produce. The natural rope tone gives a Scandinavian warmth that suits pale timber, linen and white plaster.

Rope is a natural material woven by hand, so colour, texture and the exact weave vary between pieces and no two shades are identical. Bulb is not included; use a bulb that runs cool, keep it clear of the rope and do not fit a high-wattage bulb in a natural-fibre shade. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
