Ribbing and frosting together, which is a less common combination than it sounds. Ribbed clear glass shows the bulb through the ridges; frosted plain glass hides it but has no texture at all. Doing both gives you a shade that conceals the source completely while still catching light along every rib, so the surface has real depth without any glare.
That combination is what makes it read as vintage rather than merely old-fashioned. Older fixtures used pressed and frosted glass because it was what could be produced consistently at the time, and the look has comfortably outlived the manufacturing reason for it. The result here is nostalgic without being a reproduction of any particular period piece.
Two fittings are offered at the same price. Black is the more graphic of the two and holds the fixture against a pale ceiling; white lets the whole thing recede and suits a room where the pendant should stay quiet. Bulb not included; a warm white LED behind frosted glass gives the softest and most even result. Indoor use. Wipe along the ribs with a soft dry cloth, since dust settles in the grooves.
