Pumpkin Glass Pendant Light
A ribbed glass shade in a rounded pumpkin form, set on a wrought iron frame finished with a baked paint process. Baked paint rather than a sprayed coat is worth noting: it bonds harder to the metal, so the finish resists chipping and holds its colour, which matters on a fitting that will be handled during cleaning.
The ribs are what make the glass worth having. Each one catches light along its edge, so the shade has definition and depth even when the lamp is off, and when it is on the ribs break the light into a soft radiating pattern rather than letting it fall flat. Three colours are offered. Orange is the warmest and most autumnal and gives a plain room a single strong point of colour. Cream is the gentlest and reads as a warm neutral. White is the cleanest and lets the ribbing carry the piece on its own. All three suit a dining table, a kitchen island or a bedroom.
Glass is formed individually, so slight variation in tone and rib definition between pieces is normal. Bulb is not included; use a bulb that runs cool and do not exceed the maximum wattage marked on the fitting. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the weight of the fitting.
