Vintage French Glass Ceiling Light

A close-fitting glass ceiling light with the quiet proportions of a mid-century French fixture: a moulded glass shade held against the ceiling by a slim metal frame, with nothing hanging down and nothing to catch the eye beyond the shape itself. It is the sort of light that belongs in a corridor, a small bedroom or a landing, where a pendant would be in the way and a bare downlight would feel cold.

Because the shade sits flush, the light spreads sideways along the ceiling as well as downwards, which lifts a narrow hallway and stops it from feeling like a tunnel. The glass diffuses the source enough that the bulb is not glaring even in a low-ceilinged room. It works well as a repeat fitting, two or three along a corridor or one in each of several small rooms, where a consistent ceiling light does more for a house than a series of unrelated ones.

Made from glass and metal. Direct wired, 110V-240V, E27 bulb base, CE and UL certified. Bulb is not included. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the fitting should be wired to the supply appropriate to your country.
