Hand-Woven Bamboo LED Pendant Light

Bamboo woven by hand into a rounded shade with a warm orange tone running through the fibre, which is unusual: most woven pendants are left in their natural colour, and the tint here gives the fitting a distinctly vintage, mid-century warmth that a plain cane shade does not have.

Two sizes are offered. At 40 by 30 cm it suits a bedside, a hallway or a smaller dining table, and works well in a pair at different drops. At 60 by 45 cm it is substantial enough to hold a full dining table or a living room on its own, and the weave has room to be seen properly. In both, the light escapes through the sides as well as the bottom, so the shade glows warmly around its whole surface and the ceiling above picks up a soft woven pattern. The orange tone sits particularly well with walnut, brass, cream walls and mid-century furniture, and it is one of the few woven fittings that reads as a colour decision rather than a neutral one.

Bamboo is a natural material, so colour, grain and weave vary between pieces. Bulb is not included; energy-saving LED or incandescent bulbs are recommended and the maximum wattage marked on the fitting should not be exceeded. Use a bulb that runs cool and keep it clear of the weave. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
