This is a reinterpretation of the petal lamp that defined 1970s lighting, rebuilt in rattan. Eleven separate woven leaves are arranged around a central point, each one curving outward and overlapping its neighbours, so the fixture has real depth and a sculptural profile rather than a single continuous surface. The original was moulded plastic; the material change is the whole idea.
Rattan against that shape produces a contrast the plastic version never had. The silhouette is geometric and repeating, almost machine-like in its regularity, while the material is organic, irregular and warm. Setting those two qualities against each other is what makes it read as chic rather than as a period reproduction, and it is why it works in a contemporary room as well as a retro one.
Two sizes are offered, 60 cm and 80 cm, both large enough to act as the main feature in a room. Use the 80 cm over a dining table or in a double-height space. Because the leaves overlap, the light escapes between them in radiating bands rather than evenly. Bulb not included; a warm white LED suits the fibre. Indoor use only, and dust each leaf with a dry soft brush.
