Walnut Retractable Ceiling Fan Light

Retractable means the blades fold in against the body when the fan is off and swing out when it runs. That solves the central problem of any decorative fan-light: for most of the year it is a chandelier with blades hanging off it, and with them folded away it simply looks like a chandelier, which is what you want in winter.

Six or eight glass globes surround the hub, and the count changes the character more than the span does. Six is restrained and reads as a fan-light; eight fills the ring and reads as a proper chandelier, which is the point of choosing a retractable design in the first place. Both counts are offered at both spans, at a modest price step.

The walnut wood effect finish is the traditional half of the balance, and the globes are the modern half. Two spans, 42 inches at 105 cm and 45 inches at 115 cm, suit a bedroom and a living room respectively. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the weight and movement of a fan. Indoor use only; wipe the globes dry and check the fixings periodically.
