Undulating Herringbone Rattan Pendant
Two things distinguish this from a plain woven pendant: the herringbone weave and the undulating profile. The herringbone gives it a directional pattern rather than a uniform texture; the undulation means the surface swells and recedes gently rather than following a single hard curve. Together they give the shade a softness of outline that a rigid geometric fixture cannot manage.
It is an expansive fixture, wide enough to spread its influence across a whole ceiling rather than sitting as a point in it. Light seeps through the rattan, wicker and bamboo weave in a warm glow rather than escaping in sharp beams, which is why it suits sunwashed rooms full of fresh, neutral, natural materials: the light it gives matches the palette it hangs in.
This is a modern take on rattan rather than a rustic one. The material is traditional but the scale and the undulating silhouette are contemporary, so it works in a plainly modern room without importing a farmhouse look along with it. Bulb not included; a warm white LED suits the fibre and keeps the glow warm. Indoor use only, since natural fibre absorbs moisture and loses its shape. Dust with a dry soft brush rather than a damp cloth.
