Both sizes are noticeably shallow, 37 cm wide by 21 cm deep and 51 x 26 cm, roughly half as deep as they are broad. That flattened proportion is what makes them workable under an average ceiling, where a deep basket would hang into the room and get in the way of anyone standing beneath it. It is a practical shape rather than a dramatic one.
The construction is natural rattan over a metal frame, and the metal matters at this proportion. A wide shallow shade has very little structural depth to hold it round, so without an internal frame the rim would flatten within months. Here it stays true, which is the difference between a fixture that still looks right in five years and one that does not.
It suits a kitchen, a dining room or a bedroom, and it sits easily in country, rustic and retro schemes without asking anything else to change.
