Natural Wood Shallow Pendant Light

A natural wood shade in a very shallow profile, only 12 cm deep in every size. That shallowness is the design decision that matters: a low-profile shade over a table or a worktop stays completely out of the sightline across a room, which is what makes it usable in a kitchen or a dining room with a normal ceiling.

Three widths are offered at 18, 28 and 35 cm. The 18 cm is small enough to be used in a row of three or five over an island or a breakfast bar, which is where this design does its best work. The 28 cm suits a smaller dining table or a pair over an island. The 35 cm is the single fitting over a dining table or in a living room. Two finishes are available: natural wood, which is pale and warm and reads as Scandinavian, and walnut, which is darker and richer and holds its own against stronger colours and older timber. In both, the tone of the wood is what creates the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere the design is aiming at.

Wood is a natural material, so grain and tone vary between pieces and no two shades are identical. Bulb is not included; use a bulb that runs cool, keep it clear of the timber and do not fit a high-wattage bulb in the smaller sizes. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
