Wood Effect Fan with Flower Glass Shades
This is a fan built to look like a chandelier. Frosted flower-shaped glass shades sit around the hub, three or five of them depending on the version, and the curved ABS blades and warm wood grain finish sit above rather than dominating. From below, the lights read first and the fan second, which is the opposite of what almost every other fan-light does.
The hanging rod is part of that. A flush-mounted fan is unmistakably a fan; one suspended on a rod hangs like a light fixture and reads as one from across a room. It also means the blades sit further from the ceiling, which improves airflow noticeably, though it does need the ceiling height to carry the extra drop.
Two spans are offered, 34 inches for a bedroom or a small room and 42 inches for a standard living room, each with a three or five light version. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the weight and movement of a fan on a rod. Indoor use only; wipe the glass shades and blades dry and check the fixings periodically, since a rod-mounted fan puts more leverage on them.
