That shallow proportion spreads light outward rather than dropping it in a column, which makes it a better general room light than a task light, and explains why it is listed for living rooms and home offices as readily as for dining rooms.
The cord is 150 cm, which gives real flexibility at installation. Under a standard ceiling you will shorten it and hang the shade low over a table; in a room with height you can use most of the length and let the fixture sit properly in the space rather than pinned up close to the plaster where nobody sees it.
Clear glass and a minimal fitting mean the fixture contributes almost nothing during the day and does all its work at night, which is the point of Nordic lighting: nothing that has to be looked at when it is not doing anything. Bulbs are not included, since glass travels badly with one fitted; energy-saving LED or incandescent bulbs of 60 W or less are recommended. Indoor use. Wipe with a soft dry cloth.
