Retro Cone Fabric Pendant Light

A tapered fabric cone, offered in two proportions that behave quite differently. At 23 cm wide by 27 cm high it is taller than it is broad, so the light stays contained and directional. At 31 by 23 cm it is broader than it is deep, so the light spreads wider across a surface. Choosing between them is really a decision about how much of the room you want lit.

Fabric rather than metal is what gives the cone its warmth. Light escapes through the sides as well as the open bottom, so the shade glows softly and the room gets a gentle wash alongside the downward pool, which is a far more comfortable effect over a dining table than the hard-edged circle a metal cone produces. Both sizes work over a dining table, a kitchen island or a breakfast bar, and both look particularly good in a row of three over a longer surface. Available hardwired for a permanent installation or as a plug-in with a cable and in-line switch.

Bulb is not included; energy-saving LED or incandescent bulbs of 60 W or less are recommended. Keep fabric shades clear of heat and use a bulb that runs cool. Hardwired installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the weight of the fitting.
