The rope cord is the detail worth knowing about. It is not fixed at one length: you adjust it during installation to suit the ceiling you have, which means the same fixture works over a low kitchen counter and in a high-ceilinged living room. That takes a few extra minutes at fitting and saves you buying a fixture with the wrong drop.
The cord also finishes the fixture properly. A woven shade on a plastic or fabric flex always looks slightly unresolved; a rope cord continues the natural fibre from the shade up to the ceiling rose, so the whole assembly reads as one material rather than as a shade bought separately from its fitting. It is the reason this one looks more expensive than its price suggests.
Three sizes are offered, 40 x 35 cm, 50 x 45 cm and 60 x 55 cm, all in natural woven rattan. It adds bohemian charm and warmth to a bedroom, a dining room, a kitchen or a living room, and the Nordic plainness keeps it from being a strong style statement.
