Metal Flower Bud Hanging Light

A metal shade shaped like a closed flower bud, with the rim turning inwards at the base. That inward curve is the useful part of the design: it holds the bulb further inside the shade than a straight cone would, so the light is contained and there is very little glare when you look towards it from across a room.

Four finishes are offered. Orange is the warmest and most confident and gives a plain kitchen or dining room its single point of colour. Green is the quieter statement, muted enough to work as a considered choice rather than a bright one. Black is graphic and sits with dark cabinetry and industrial schemes. White reflects the most light and disappears against a pale ceiling. The shade is compact enough to be used in numbers, and a row of three over an island or a pair over a dining table is where the design does its best work. Singly it suits a bedside, a desk or a hallway console.

Bulb is not included. Because the shade is metal and compact, use a bulb that runs cool and do not exceed the maximum wattage marked on the fitting. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the weight of the fitting.
