The whole design is an exercise in proportion: nothing here is decorated, and what makes it interesting is entirely the relationship between the sizes of the parts and the way they sit together. Get that wrong and it is just a stack of tubes.
Resin makes it possible at this weight. Ceramic would give much the same look and be far heavier, which matters a great deal on a ceiling fixture; resin gives the density and the solid colour without the load, and it takes pigment through the body so the colour is consistent everywhere, including the edges between the stacked sections where a painted finish would chip.
Macaron here means the palette rather than the shape: red, green and black, all at the same price, all strong rather than pastel. The base is hand-built, so the finish varies slightly from one piece to the next. It is sleek enough to work in almost any room without being tied to a style.
