Feather Pendant Light in White or Grey

Feathers massed around a circular frame so the shade reads as a soft cloud rather than a set of individual plumes. Feather does something with light that no other shade material manages: the edges catch and glow, the depth of the plume is visible, and the whole shade appears to move slightly even when it is completely still.

Two colours are offered. White is the classic and the brighter of the two, reflecting the most light and reading as pure and romantic. Grey is cooler and considerably more modern, and it works in a room where white would look bridal rather than designed. Three diameters are available at 40, 50 and 60 cm. The 40 cm suits a bedside, a hallway or a smaller bedroom; 50 cm over a dining table or in a mid-sized living room; 60 cm as the main feature of a bedroom or a living room. In a bedroom in particular the light quality is the selling point: soft, warm and completely without glare.

Natural feather varies in length, curl and colour depth between pieces. Bulb is not included. Feather is combustible: use only a bulb that runs cool, do not exceed the maximum wattage marked on the fitting, and keep the shade well clear of heaters and open flames. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
