Seagrass rope, not rattan, and the difference is visible. The rope is thicker and softer than a rattan reed, so instead of a tight basket the weave forms an open cross-lattice with real gaps between the strands: closer to a net than to a shade. The dome holds its shape through the tension of the rope itself rather than through a heavy internal frame.
That open lattice changes the light more than any other detail here. Very little is blocked, so the room stays bright and the fixture works as much for its shadow as for its glow: the crossing ropes print a wide diamond grid across the ceiling and down the nearest wall. It is a structural, graphic effect rather than a soft one, which is why it suits contemporary and Japandi rooms rather than fussy ones.
Six sizes run from 25 cm, small enough for a hallway or a pair over a bedside, up to 60 cm for a dining table or a living-room feature. Bulb not included; a warm white LED keeps the seagrass sandy rather than grey. Indoor use only, since natural rope takes up moisture. Dust with a dry soft brush and work along the ropes rather than across the gaps.
