Yellow Aluminium Vintage Pendant

A metal shade in a warm yellow, made from aluminium alloy rather than steel. The material choice matters more than it might seem: aluminium is light enough to hang from an ordinary ceiling fixing without reinforcement, and it does not rust, which is exactly why it was used for lighting in the period this design borrows from.

Because the shade is opaque, the yellow does not tint the light passing through it; it colours the fixture itself and the ceiling around it. What you get below is a clean warm pool from the open base, and above it a warm-toned object that reads as colour rather than as a light source. That is a different effect from a coloured glass shade entirely.

The result is retro without being a reproduction, and it suits anyone who wants a single point of warm colour in a room rather than a fixture that disappears. It works over a table, a counter, or in a hallway. Bulb not included; a warm white LED matches the shade. Indoor use. Wipe the aluminium with a soft dry cloth and avoid abrasives, which mark the finish easily.
