Most woven pendants are a dome or a basket. This one is a ribbon: slatted rattan wound around a white sculptural frame in a loose, twisting curve, so the shape reads as movement rather than as a container. Seen from one side it looks like a rolling wave, from another like an open spiral, which makes it a better fit for a spot people walk past and around than a symmetrical shade would be.
The open slats are the point. Light passes straight through the gaps and is broken by the rattan strips into a rhythmic pattern of soft bands that move across the ceiling and the nearest wall. There is no hard cut-off and no glare from below, so it works over a table, in a stairwell or in a hallway where you look up at it directly. The white frame keeps the natural fibre from feeling heavy against pale walls.
It sits comfortably in Japandi, coastal and modern-organic rooms, and against oak, rattan furniture, linen and off-white plaster. Because the silhouette is asymmetric, it is best hung on its own as a single feature rather than in a matched row. Bulb not included; use a warm white LED to keep the rattan golden. Indoor use only. Dust with a soft dry brush and keep it away from damp rooms.
