Multiple wavy layers cascading one below the next, each with a scalloped edge, so the shade builds up like the petals of an opening flower or a drifting cloud. The layering is what gives it depth: light escapes between every tier as well as through the base, so the fitting glows in bands rather than presenting one flat lit surface.
Two sizes are offered. At 40 by 28 cm it works over a bedside, a hallway or a smaller dining table, and a pair at different drops looks better than two matched at the same height. At 50 by 30 cm it has the presence to be the main fitting over a dining table or in a living room. Both come hardwired for a permanent installation or as a plug-in with a cable and in-line switch, which makes them straightforward in a rented flat. In white the piece reads as ethereal rather than decorative, which is what allows a shape this elaborate to work in a minimalist room.
Acrylic layers are formed individually, so slight variation between pieces is normal. Bulb is not included; use a bulb that runs cool, as acrylic should not be exposed to sustained heat, and do not exceed the maximum wattage marked on the fitting. Hardwired installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
