Rattan and Black Linen Drum Pendant

Two shades, one fixture. Inside sits a black linen drum; around it, a rattan outer shade; between them, a metal frame holding both in a clean cylinder. That layering is what separates this from the single-skin woven pendants it sits alongside, and it changes the light in a way that is obvious from across a room rather than only up close.

The black linen blocks the sideways spill almost completely, so the rattan outer layer is lit by what reflects back rather than by the bulb directly. The result is a much darker, moodier fixture than an open weave gives: the rattan reads as a textured silhouette rather than as a glowing shade, and the light itself goes almost entirely downward into a defined pool.

The black fabric cord continues the same logic, so the whole assembly reads as one designed object rather than a shade on a generic fitting. It suits a retro or modern scheme and works well over a dining table or a bar, where directed light is more useful than ambient. Bulb not included; use a warm white LED. Indoor use only. Dust the rattan dry and lift lint from the linen with a roller.
