Scalloped Pleated Fabric Pendant Light

A drum shade with a repeating scalloped edge, hand-pleated so each curve is formed rather than cut. The scallop is what lifts it above a plain drum: it gives the silhouette a soft rhythm from every angle, and the pleats behind it catch the light at slightly different intensities so the shade has texture rather than a flat glow.

Three sizes are offered. At 40 by 25 cm it works over a bedside, a hallway or a smaller dining table, and a pair at slightly different drops looks better than two matched. At 50 by 27 cm it is the everyday choice over a dining table or in a mid-sized living room. At 60 by 30 cm it has the scale to hold a large table or a wide seating group on its own. Each size is available hardwired for a permanent installation or as a plug-in with a cable and in-line switch, which makes it straightforward in a rented flat.

Fabric is pleated by hand, so the scallops vary slightly between pieces and may settle after hanging. Bulb is not included; use a bulb that runs cool, keep it clear of the fabric and do not fit a high-wattage bulb. Hardwired installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the weight of the fitting.
