Three separate glass shades rather than a single central diffuser, which changes the light substantially. One source in the middle of a fan hub casts a single moving shadow of the blades; three sources spaced around it overlap and cancel most of that, so the flicker you get under a running fan with one lamp largely disappears. It is a practical improvement, not a decorative one.
The wood is the visual half of it. Two finishes are offered: light wood, which reads Scandinavian and keeps the fan pale against a white ceiling, and walnut, which is darker and warmer and suits a room with existing timber in it. Both are the same price at both spans, so the choice is entirely about the room.
Two spans, 42 inches at 106 cm for a bedroom and 52 inches at 132 cm for a living room. The LED illumination is integrated, so the fan is the room's main light as well as its cooling. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the weight and movement of a fan.
