Natural straw fibres woven by hand into a dome with a deliberately open weave, so you can see through the shade rather than only at it. The 50 and 60 cm sizes have the presence to hold a dining table or a kitchen island on their own. Straw is a fast-growing, sustainable fibre, and the material is what carries the piece: nothing has been added to it, and the appeal is the weave, the colour and the hand-work.
Straw is a natural material, so colour, texture and weave vary between pieces and fibres may settle lightly at first. Bulb is not included; use a bulb that runs cool, keep it clear of the weave and do not fit a high-wattage bulb in a natural-fibre shade. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
