Hand-Woven Rattan Teardrop Pendant
The teardrop shade is woven by hand from natural rattan reeds, and the shape does something a straight-sided basket cannot: it narrows at the top and swells low, so the widest part of the weave sits closest to the table and throws light where you actually need it. The open basket-style weave keeps the whole thing visually light despite its size, so it reads as texture in the room rather than as a solid block.
Because the reeds are worked by hand, the weave is never perfectly regular, and that irregularity is what makes the shadows interesting. Light pools downward through the open base and escapes sideways through the gaps, printing a soft lattice on the ceiling and the walls nearby. Rattan takes on a honey tone as soon as a warm bulb is behind it, which is why a 2700K LED suits it far better than a cool white one.
It works over a dining table, above a kitchen island, or low beside a bed in place of a table lamp. Pair it with oak, jute, linen and off-white walls for a Japandi look, or with darker timber and terracotta for something more boho. Bulb not included. Indoor use only: rattan swells and loses its shape in damp air, so keep it out of bathrooms and covered terraces. Dust with a dry soft brush.
