Rattan Scalloped Wavy Umbrella Dome

A woven rattan basket frame that curves outward into a wide umbrella, finished with a scalloped, wavy rim rather than a straight one. The wave is the difference. A plain umbrella shade ends in a hard circle, which reads as engineered; a scalloped one ends in a series of soft curves, which reads as drawn by hand. It is a playful detail on an otherwise disciplined shape.

That combination, structured geometry with a breezy organic edge, is what makes it work in a contemporary layout. The umbrella profile spreads light wide and shallow, and the scalloped rim breaks the shadow line on the ceiling into a repeating scallop instead of a hard ring, so the pattern overhead has some movement in it.

Four sizes are offered, 30, 40, 50 and 60 cm, with the 30 and 40 cm at the same price. The smaller sizes suit a bedside, a hallway or a run over an island; the 60 cm works alone over a table. Bulb not included; a warm white LED brings out the natural rattan. Indoor use only, since rattan swells in damp air. Dust the scalloped rim carefully, dry.
