A dome pendant with the sides pinched into fluted panels, so instead of a smooth curve you get a ribbed, scalloped profile somewhere between a pumpkin and an opening lotus. The pleats catch light along their ridges and drop it into the grooves, which gives the shade real depth from across a room rather than the flat silhouette a plain woven dome tends to have.
The panels are hand-woven from premium natural rattan strips and set on a clean monochrome fitting, so the fibre stays the only decorative element. Light comes down through the open base as a defined pool and leaks through the weave along the flutes, tracing vertical bands on the ceiling. It is a warmer, softer effect than a metal shade gives, and it holds up well in a room with white walls that would otherwise feel flat.
Available hardwired or as a plug-in version, which makes it usable in a rented flat or anywhere without a ceiling rose. Hang it over a round dining table, a kitchen island or a hallway table where its symmetry can be seen straight on. Bulb not included; a warm white LED brings out the honey tone of the rattan.
