Two shapes and two finishes from one design. The globe comes in 20, 25 and 30 cm; the cylinder in 13 x 40 cm and 15 x 50 cm, both far taller than they are wide. That is a real choice rather than a cosmetic one, because a globe spreads light in every direction while a tall cylinder drops it in a narrow column onto the surface below.
Frosted or clear is the second decision and it changes the light more than the shape does. Clear glass leaves the bulb visible and gives a bright, sparkling result with defined shadows. Frosted hides the source and produces an even glow with no glare, which is the better choice over a table or anywhere people look up at the fixture.
The cylinders in particular reward grouping, since their narrow width lets you hang three or five close together over an island without the shades competing with each other. The globes are better used singly or in a mixed cluster. Bulbs are not included, since glass and bulbs travel badly together; energy-saving LED or incandescent bulbs of 60 W or less are recommended. Indoor use. Wipe with a soft dry cloth.
