Macaron Glass and Brass Pendant Light

Frosted glass globes crowned with spun-metal hoods, suspended either side of a central rod in aged brass and matte black. It is a modern reading of a mid-century idea, and the hood is the detail that makes it: it caps the globe, hides the fixing and reflects light back down, so the fitting is neater from below than an exposed globe would be.

Two sizes and three colours are offered. At 20 by 22 cm it is a compact fitting for a bedside, a hallway or a breakfast bar. At 26 by 52 cm it is considerably taller and works over a dining table or a kitchen island where the drop can be seen. Pink is the softest and warmest; white is the neutral that suits any scheme; grey is cooler and more urban. The drop is adjustable at installation, so the same fitting can hang low over a table or high in a room with a tall ceiling. Frosted glass conceals the bulb entirely, so there is no glare from any angle.

Glass is frosted and formed individually, so slight variation in tone is normal, and aged brass mellows further with time. Bulb is not included. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the weight of the fitting.
