Textile Cylinder Pendant Light

A textile shade in a plain rounded cylinder on a long black fabric cord. The silhouette is graphic and simple, with no trim, pattern or detailing, and the black cord is deliberately left visible so it reads as part of the design rather than something to be hidden.

The cord length is what makes it adaptable. It can be dropped low over a dining table so the shade sits just above eye level, or shortened to hang high in a room with a tall ceiling, and the same fitting works in both. Two sizes are offered: 50 by 35 cm for a dining table, a bedroom or a mid-sized living room, and 70 by 45 cm for a large table, a wide seating group or an open-plan space where the fitting needs real presence. Textile diffuses light through the sides as well as the open bottom, so the shade glows softly and there is no glare from any angle, which is what makes a large shade like this comfortable to sit under for hours.

Both sizes are available hardwired for a permanent installation or as a plug-in with a cable and switch. Bulb is not included; use a bulb that runs cool and keep it clear of the textile. Hardwired installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the weight of the fitting.
