This Nolle Desing pendant takes the wabi-sabi idea seriously: a plain resin dome, a matte chalky surface and no ornament at all. What gives it presence is the texture rather than any detail, which is why it sits so comfortably in Nordic and Japandi rooms where everything else is already pared back. Four colourways are offered, in beige, brick red, white and a muted green.
Over a dining table it does the quiet job of marking the table without dominating it, and the solid shade keeps the bulb hidden so the light lands on the food and the faces rather than in anyone's eyes. It also works well over a kitchen island, at the end of a long hallway, or as a single low-hung pendant beside a bed in place of a table lamp. The neutral shades sit easily against plaster, wood and linen.
Every shade is cast and hand-finished, so slight differences in tone, thickness and surface texture are expected and are part of the look. Bulb not included. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the weight of the fitting.
