Iron Figure Adjustable Pendant Light

A small black iron figure holding the light, with a cord that can be raised or lowered so the figure appears to climb or descend. The adjustability is not just practical here: changing the height changes what the piece is doing, and a group set at different levels reads as a scene rather than as a set of lamps.

Three configurations are offered, with one, two or three heads. A single figure works over a bedside, a desk, a hallway console or in a child's room, where the character is the whole appeal. Two and three heads let you stage the figures at different heights over a dining table, a stairwell or a kitchen island, which is where the design earns its keep. Each shade is 26 cm across and 40 cm high including the figure, and the matte black iron is deliberately plain so the silhouette does the work rather than any detailing.

Bulb is not included; energy-saving LED or incandescent bulbs of 60 W or less are recommended. Where used in a child's room, mount the fitting out of reach and adjust the cord so it cannot be pulled or reached from a bed; this is a light fitting, not a toy. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
