White Fabric Lantern Pendant Shade

A white fabric shade in a lantern profile, taller in proportion than a standard drum and gently tapered, so it has more presence from the side than a flat cylinder would. Three sizes are offered and all three keep the same proportion, which means the design scales without losing its shape.

Fabric is what makes a lantern this size comfortable to live with. Light passes through the sides as well as the open bottom, so the whole shade glows softly and the room gets an even wash rather than a hard-edged pool, and there is no glare from any angle. At 40 by 30 cm it works over a bedside, a hallway or a small dining table. At 50 by 36 cm it suits a dining table or a mid-sized living room. At 60 by 45 cm it has the scale to hold a large room or a wide seating group on its own. All three come hardwired for a permanent installation or as a plug-in with a cable and in-line switch.

Bulb is not included; energy-saving LED or incandescent bulbs of 60 W or less are recommended. Keep fabric shades clear of heat and use a bulb that runs cool. Hardwired installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the ceiling fixing must be rated for the weight of the fitting.
